what a lovely saturday

Got to work with one of my favorite teams of people at work today and finished the book I was reading (Perfect by Sara Shepard-Book 3 of 8 in the Pretty Little Liars series).

I am about to run some errands with my mom, and probably my daughter-since there's no way she will let both of us go somewhere without her. Can't spend any money this time though. What a challenge, I should have put that on my goals list.

forever&after,

thursday's for changing it up.

Well, I must say that my diet change goal from last week has been successful! I have been drinking only diet again (if I am even drinking soda.) This week's change is to add something. WATER! We should drink 8 glasses a day, and I rarely even drink one...though I am not sure why, because I love water.
As far as the supply closet goal...there hasn't been any direct progress yet, but we have been doing some progressive organizing!

THESE BINS ARE FANTASTIC!

I haven't had to time to read anything, so that goal is sitting still at the moment. I may actually pull out my book here in a few minutes though, seeing as it is a slow day at work. (Watch me jinx it!)

I have yet to start with the day planner thing, mainly because I don't want to spend full price on a planner when the majority of the year is over. BUT I *have* been using a calendar; as well as working on some designs for next year's planner. I think it will double as my bill organizer. Unless someone decided to buy me the one from RedStar Ink, which is absolutely FABULOUS. Seriously. Look:

WONDERFULLY PERFECT!

four simple goals.

**original post below.

my four simple goals to be completed before 2011 are:

1.eat healthier.
I will do this gradually to increase the possibility of success, by changing one thing about my diet every week. This week, I will switch from regular soda to diet.

2. organize an art supply closet. I have huge closets in my apartment, and there is no reason I shouldn't organize my supplies by genre, and of course make it beautiful and inspiring. I would love to have a studio, but that's just not in the cards right now.

3. read more. I will start by reading two books a month. I used to read all the time, and I have been doing it more lately, and I forgot about the feeling of freedom, like I am in a different world when I read a good story. I have actually been reading the Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard, and I am on book 3 of 8.

4. use a day planner.* This is actually part of a larger goal, but I have to work my way up to it. ;) Ever since my daughter was born, I am always late and forgetting things. I have to ask people when their party is twelve times, and call doctor's offices for appointments all the time!

*BONUS GOAL: I must find or create the perfect planner for me; with all the characteristics that I need in a planner; including a goals page for each month.

personal challenge!

I am undergoing a positive personal challenge! I am going to create FOUR SIMPLE GOALS to complete before 2011. This is something I am doing with the lovely Elsie Flannigan and her other blog readers, which should definitely make for some motivation and a lot more fun! I can't wait to read about every one else's goals!

Let me give you a little breakdown before I post my goals tonight.

1. These will be simple goals, that will make my life richer and happier on a daily basis, and things that I may not get done without writing them down and being held accountable, but they are not difficult.
2. They are not result-oriented, they are activity oriented; for example.... instead of "lose 10 pounds", it will be something like "eat fresh fruits and vegetables every day". The goals must be positive actions instead of just the end result!
3. I must choose goals that are personal that I believe will truly make my life richer just by doing them! they can be daily, weekly or one time experiences.
4. I have to choose a reward for each goal as it is accomplished! it can be a small or large reward.
5. I will blog your goals, each one as I achieve them and a big post when they are all finished before the new year!

I am so excited to be participating in this. For full details on this fun mini goal challenge check out elsie's blog [at] abeautifulmess.

todays travels...

This morning we took Madalyn to the Louisville Science Center for the Elmo Body Exhibit. We all had so much fun! I urge anyone in the area with kiddos to check it out.
Then we went grocery shopping. Exciting, I know.

After that we went and ate at this restaurant that is really starting to blossom, called Cheddar's, & HOLY COW, it is AMAZING! The steak literally melted in my mouth. MMMM.

When we got home, I was pondering online and discovered something CRAZY cute.

I strongly urge all of you to check out this shop. She is so wonderful, and is able to customize, but may only be able to do so for a limited time, so HURRY! click here to go to her shop

Also, don't forget about our caite & kelly shop update! :)

oh what I wouldn't give...

to have my own studio! I would have so much more art and inspiration! :) A few images I am completely inspired by for a studio include, but are not limited to:

red velvet art's first shop

the colors! and the big work table!

as you can see I am a HUGE fan of elsie flannigan.

I am also a big sucker for clear containers, jars, etc.

I will definitely share more later! But for now, I am off to paint a pony for a little girl named Tori!
